So, how many of you know that your website is being graded? Probably not a lot of you. The truth is, it is! When someone types in a specific word, phrase, or company name into the search engine they are using it comes up with as many websites that match those keywords as it can – that is where Search Engine Optimization comes into play.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the visibility of a website or a web page in search engines through natural or un-paid search results. The higher on the search page, and the more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine's users.

Here are a few hints to help build your SEO for your site.

Optimize Everything – When creating new pages or articles, always make sure to have the keywords in the meta tags (a tag which is a coding formality in hypertext markup language also better known as HTML). Try to stick to approximately 5-8 appropriate well related keywords that also relate to the topic of the page. Be sure that everything is connecting between the title, the description, and the url.

Share Links – Inbound and Outbound links are important to have on your website, but, make sure they all work. Also, include links that pertain to your website topics. Do not put a soccer link up if your business is hair products.

Create Content – “Content is King” as many say. Always have current and interesting content. Make sure nothing is outdated and that you are updating all the time to make users come back more often, which then, drives traffic to your site.

These few hints about SEO will be helpful for you to start out or improve your website. In no time you will be seeing traffic changes in your site because your ranking will be much higher that before if you apply these tips to your own website.
